Amasi rolls with biltong butter

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 cup amasi
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Biltong butter:
  • 1 cup real butter
  • ½ cup biltong shavings
  • Optional chilli flakes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven: 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking tray or line with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and dried rosemary.
  • Stir in the Amasi and oil until it forms a sticky dough.
  • Shape rolls: Using floured hands scoop out portions of dough and shape into small rolls (about golf-ball size). Place them evenly on the prepared tray.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let them cool slightly. Enjoy warm with biltong butter, cheese, or chutney.
  • Biltong butter: In a bowl, combine softened butter with the biltong shavings. Mix well until evenly distributed.
