What is a sustainable diet?

The Food and Agricultural Organisation defines sustainable diets according to four broad principles: nutrition, economics, society, and the environment. Food intake patterns should ideally be nutritionally adequate yet affordable, socially acceptable, and environmentally responsible. However, the measures and metrics for sustainability are domain‑specificand not globally standardised yet.
