In some types of alternative health care, people with bronchial asthma are advised not to eat so-called mucus-forming foods. Dairy products are often singled out. However, various investigations have shown that the consumption of milk does not seem to exacerbate the symptoms of asthma and a relationship between milk consumption and the occurrence of asthma cannot be established. It should be noted that there are, however, a few documented cases of people with cow’s milk allergy who presented with asthma-like symptoms.
